Can constipation cause kidney pain? Research suggests that constipation may be a sign of poor kidney health. It was determined that people with chronic constipation are more likely to experience kidney diseases than normal people.
Research is not quite there yet, but some people with high-grade constipation seem to have an increased risk of kidney disease. For instance, high-grade constipation was associated with the presence of some of the blood-clotting factors in the body. Research has also shown that constipation may actually increase the risk of developing kidney disease. While some research has not indicated this to be the case, many people with chronic constipation may be at greater risk of developing kidney disease as a result of their high-grade constipation.
How is chronic constipation different from kidney disease?
Chronic constipation may be caused by a variety of diseases. For instance, people with chronic constipation may have multiple disorders of the kidney:
Kidney Disease
Kidney Disease is a serious condition that often can cause severe health problems. Most people with kidney disease have no kidney pain or signs. However, some people with kidney disease have signs that could be interpreted as kidney pain. One of these symptoms is an enlarged bladder (pancreatic insufficiency). In some cases, kidney disease is also linked to blood clots in the bloodstream (thrombophlebitis). Kidney disease affects an estimated 1 in 4 people worldwide.
Problems with Kidney Function and Function of the Kidneys
There is a wide range of differences among people who have a chronic disease of the kidney or are at increased risk of the development of this disease. For example, some people who have kidney disease have very low kidney function. Some people also have low kidney function that lasts a long time. In general, however, most people with a chronic kidney disease have normal kidney function and normal blood pressure.
Research in the last two decades has indicated that kidney disease can have serious effects on the kidney’s function. Most kidney diseases can lead to low blood pressure and kidney problems, such as chronic tubular obstruction. Although the severity of kidney disease depends on many factors, many of these effects are associated with the presence of chronic constipation. For instance, kidney disease can cause pain that can cause people with kidney disease to lose sleep or to have difficulty going to work because of kidney disease. In addition, some people with chronic constipation have an increased risk of developing renal disease due to their condition.
